Description
Solar cat bed in wicker takes the celestial curves of a planet. By placing the kennel in the center of chromed steel tubes made in Italy, the object becomes a real case for the cat. The white wicker is hand woven by French craftsmen. It allows a subtle mixture between tradition and modernity which gives this object a singular aestheticism.
For the base of the product, you can choose to put a velvet bed or nothing. The velvet that covers the bed is made from recycled bottles in Italy. It is a soft, cat-friendly material that the cat can lie on comfortably. The fabric is easy to clean and very durable.
The velvet cushion is handmade by seamstresses in Italy. The velvet used comes from recycled bottles. It is a soft material appreciated by the cat. It is resistant and easy to maintain.

Sacha Lakic, designer and co-founder of Bogarel
Sacha Lakic has been imagining contemporary furniture designs for over 20 years. Many of his creations are now unavoidable, such as the Bubble Sofa by Roche Bobois or the Gourmet sideboard at the Fauchon hotel.
He is the author of numerous designs, including some for the Hôtel Fauchon Paris (contemporary furniture), Stay Concrete (urban furniture), and Voxan (motorcycles), for example.

How to maintain the Solar cat bed in wicker?
Maintaining the white wicker sphere
Before any action, remember to remove dust from the sphere with a microfiber cloth.
For regular cleaning, we recommend soaking a cotton towel with dishwashing liquid mixed with Lukewarm water. Rinse with a soft damp towel.
To brighten up the wicker sphere, we recommend soaking a cotton towel with baking soda and lemon juice mixed with Lukewarm water. Rinse with a soft damp towel.
If the wicker starts to blacken, you should take action immediately. We recommend soaking a cotton towel with lemon juice, baking soda and white vinegar mixed with Lukewarm water.
To remove scratches, we recommend using a walnut (the fruit in the shell) by removing the shell and rubbing the fruit on the scratch with light pressure.
An aged wicker furniture can creak. To stop the furniture from squeaking, we recommend using parrafin oil: coat the joints with a brush dipped in parrafin oil.
Maintaining chrome steel tubes
For regular cleaning, we recommend soaking a cotton cloth with Marseille soap mixed with lukewarm water. Rinse with a soft damp cloth.
To restore the shine, we recommend soaking a cotton cloth with table oil. Rinse with a soft damp cloth.
Maintaining the velvet bedding and the velvet cushion
In order to remove embedded hair and dust from the velvet, we recommend using a clothes roller.
For regular cleaning of the bedding, we recommend soaking a cotton cloth with liquid Marseille soap mixed with warm water. Rinse with a soft damp cloth and dry immediately with a clean, dry cloth.
CAUTION: Do not rub too vigorously and do not wring out the velvet as this may distort it.
For regular cleaning of the cushion, we recommend that you put it in the washing machine following these instructions: delicate mode, maximum temperature: 30°, do not put in the dryer, bleach is not allowed.
CAUTION: Once out of the washing machine, please do not wring it out. We advise you to dry it flat to preserve it from distorting.
To remove grease stains from velvet, we advise you to spray degreaser on the stain after having absorbed the excess substance with an absorbent paper towel. Wait 1 minute and rub. Finally, rub the area with a cloth soaked in a mixture of water and mild soap to remove any remaining degreaser.
To remove coffee, ketchup, biros or other stains from velvet, we recommend rubbing firmly in a circular motion with a cloth soaked in a solution of water and Marseille soap after having absorbed the excess substance with an absorbent paper towel.
Is the scratching post resistant?
The scratching post is made from quality natural hemp rope. It is particularly resistant.

The velvet bedding on this base is fixed to a wooden tray. The wooden tray is held in place by 3 screws.
In order to change the velvet bedding, unscrew these 3 screws and carefully remove the wooden tray from the base of your Bogarel.
Once your new velvet bedding is attached to the wooden tray you received, place it correctly in the steel base and apply gentle pressure to make it fit.
Screw in the 3 screws to secure the wooden tray to the base of the product.
Once your new velvet bedding is attached to a wooden tray you received, place it correctly within the circle formed by the chrome steel tube and then gently press it in.

The wicker spheres of our luxury cat furniture are made of wicker strands hand-picked in winter from soft willow trees. To obtain white-coloured wicker, the freshly harvested wicker strands must be peeled by hand. Without this step, the raw wicker retains its brown colour. Wicker is inherently durable, strong and healthy. It is also biodegradable.

For its handmade cat trees and cat beds, Bogarel turned to a committee of basket makers located in Haute-Marne who grow and harvest the wicker themselves. They have a know-how of weaving which is passed on from generation to generation. They have mastered up to 16 different braiding techniques.

For its designer cat trees, Bogarel has chosen cork from the cork oak forest named La Dehesa in Portugal. This cork is guaranteed FSC ( Forest Stewardship Council). This international organisation ensures that forests are managed according to ecological and social criteria. The cork is taken from the tree, but the tree regenerates itself throughout its 170-year life! This means that the trees can absorb CO2 throughout their existence.

Valérie Mounier's expertise in animal well-being
The adventure started in 2010 when Valerie went to a cat show near Paris where she fell in love with British Shorthair cats. She then dreamed of becoming a professional breeder. After training and extensive research, she opened a human-sized cattery in the Plaine de Versailles: Le Clos d'Eugénie.
Valérie Mounier used many different cat furniture and accessories, but none of them fully met her expectations. The adoptive families also testified to their difficulties in finding furniture that combined aesthetics and the cat's well-being.
Her collaboration with designer Sacha Lakic began with the aim of overcoming this shortcoming.
